Awaiting the birth of your child is one of the most beautiful periods in one’s life which comes with always wanting the best for your child and protecting them which leads to wanting to know about your unborn child beforehand in order to be prepared for any condition! There are many diagnostic tests done throughout the course of the pregnancy to determine the health of the pregnant woman and the foetus and the Dual, Triple & Quadruple Marker tests are a part of those.  Scientific Pathology is one of the top diagnostic centres in U.P. and offers 1000 diagnostic tests; we also have a Covid-19 PCR testing lab in Agra.

Dual Marker Test

Also known as the Maternal Serum Screening, the Dual/Double Marker Test is a predictive test that is done as a part of the 1st trimester screenings.

This is a blood test wherein the blood is tested for markers of chromosomal abnormalities, resulting in predicting the likelihood of it. This test is performed between 11 to 13+6 weeks. Scientific Pathology offers this test along with other blood tests like sugar test in Agra.

This test is important to take if you are at a higher risk and have a family history of chromosomal conditions or are over the age of 35 years.

This test can determine if the child is at a higher risk of having Down’s syndrome or trisomy 18 (Edward’s syndrome) or trisomy 13 (Patau’s syndrome).

Triple Marker Test

Also known as the Multiple Marker Screening the Triple Test is a test that determines the likeliness of the foetus having genetic disorders.

This is a blood test that is performed by taking a sample from women when they are between 15 to 20+6 weeks pregnant. We offer the Triple Marker blood test, sugar test in Agra, CBC and more!

This test might also determine if the child has a higher chance of having neural tube defects like anencephaly and spina bifida. It not only determines any risk to the foetus but also to the pregnancy.

Quadruple Marker Test

This test is an alternative to the Triple Market Test with slight differences. The Quadruple Marker Test is a more sensitive than the other. The Quadruple test measures the hormone levels while Triple Test doesn’t.

This test determines the absence or presence of any genetic disorders the child might have. It is a blood test conducted in the 2nd trimester of the pregnancy.
